TRULLO en COUNTRY HOUSE 'Allegro'

The houses which make up Casa Allegro, a country house with a totally refurbished trullo, are set in a verdant landscape dominated by olives and Mediterranean maquis.

Lying at the heart of the Valle d'Itria, 3 km both from Cisternino and from the ancient and sophisticated nobles' town of Martina Franca, famous for its Baroque architecture, its arts festival and its delicious capocollo salami; 10 km from Ostuni; 18 km from Alberobello.
 

The coast with its beautiful sandy beaches, golf course and riding stables is 12 km away.
The whole complex, house plus trullo, can hold up to 12 guests.

Among the main attractions of Casa Allegro (or Happy House) are the outstanding materials and colours which the lady of the house, a professional restorer, chose to use when refurbishing the house. The overall effect is that of a warm but tranquil welcome, which cannot fail to inspire anyone who sets foot here.

Warm in winter and cool in summer, with a variety of different spaces both inside and out, a house where an apparent but sophisticated simplicity conceals a search for innovative solutions, Casa Allegro is the ideal place for those who enjoy the pleasures of understatement.

 

 

DESCRIPTIONS:

COUNTRY HOUSE:

The kitchen has a washing machine, dishwasher and 2 fridges.The living room holds a table for 6/8 people, chairs, armchairs, a reading table, a colour TV and video.

The two spacious bedrooms are furnished with wardrobes, bedside tables and double beds (a single bed can be added on request), both have independent access and each has its own well-equipped bathroom, one with a bath and the other with a shower.

One of the bedrooms has a smaller bedroom leading off it, containing a double sofa bed.

The beds themselves are made from wood, with wooden staves, while the anti-allergy mattresses are made from latex with a coconut fibre core.

So, the house can comfortably accommodate 6 people, with the chance to add an extra bed.


 

 

 

 

  

 

 

 

 

TRULLO ALLEGRO:

Just like Casa Allegro, Trullo Allegro communicates the owners' passion for natural materials. The stone it is built from, was treated with the same materials that have always been used to decorate trulli, a very light plaster and white lime for the walls, stone and mortar for the floors.

A number of innovative solutions, however, such as the oil-lamps at the top of the cones, make this trullo particularly bright, and suitable for use at any time of day or night throughout the year.

With its two spacious main rooms plus utilities, this trullo has one double bedroom with two entrances, one independent of the rest of the trullo and one which leads into the living room; a large living room with a double sofa bed, ), a single bed ) and a fireplace; kitchen and bathroom with a bath.

There is a typical Mediterranean garden outside, with a delightful patio surrounded by columns, with a cane roof which provides shade against the strong summer sun - an ideal place to sit and read or take a rest.

Inside the main cone, at the top of a steep outside staircase is a highly exclusive quiet area, the perfect place for meditation or simply for looking deep within your soul.

 

We rent always from saturday to saturday, only in low season we can make an exception.
Towels/bedlinen and energy are included.

Not included: heating 30 €/day during first 3 days, 20 €/day for following period.
